California Further Ban Bisphenols in Certain Juvenile Products

Juvenile products

On September 27, 2024, the Governor of U.S. California State signed Bill SB 1266 to further ban bisphenols in certain juvenile products.

In October 2011, California enacted the Bill AB 1319 to restrict bisphenol A (BPA) to no more than 0.1 ppbin food contact bottle or cup for children aged three years or younger.

California now approved Bill SB 1266 to further ban bisphenols in juvenile’s feeding product or juvenile’s sucking or teething product.

On and after January 1, 2026, no person shall manufacture, sell, or distribute in commerce any juvenile’s feeding product or juvenile’s sucking or teething product that contains any form of bisphenols above the practical quantitation limit (PQL), to be determined by the Department of Toxic Substances Control.
