EU issues new requirements for General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR)

The overseas market is constantly improving its product compliance standards, especially the EU market, which is more concerned about product safety.
In order to address safety issues caused by non EU market products, GPSR stipulates that every product entering the EU market must designate an EU representative.
Recently, many sellers selling products on European websites have reported receiving product compliance notification emails from Amazon
In 2024, if you sell non food products in the European Union and Northern Ireland, you will be required to comply with the relevant requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR).
The specific requirements are as follows:
① Ensure that all products you sell comply with existing labeling and traceability requirements.
② Designate an EU responsible person for these products.
③ Label the product with contact information of the responsible person and manufacturer (if applicable).
④ Mark the type, batch number, or serial number of the product.
⑤ When applicable, use the language of the selling country to label safety information and warnings on the product.
⑥ Display the responsible person information, manufacturer name, and contact information for each product in the online list.
⑦ Display product images and provide any other information needed in the online list.
⑧ Display warning and safety information in the online list in the language of the sales country/region.
As early as March 2023, Amazon notified sellers via email that the European Union would enact a new regulation called the General Commodity Safety Regulations in 2024. Recently, Amazon Europe announced that the newly issued General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) by the European Union will be officially implemented on December 13, 2024. According to this regulation, products that do not comply with regulations will be immediately taken off the shelves.
Before December 13, 2024, only goods carrying the CE mark are required to designate a European representative (European representative). Starting from December 13, 2024, all products sold in the European Union must designate a European representative.
