On June 27, 2024, the European Chemicals Administration (ECHA) released a new batch of substances of high concern through its official website. After evaluation, bis (a, a-dimethylbenzyl) peroxide was officially included in the 31st batch of substances of high concern (SVHC) list, which has the hazard attribute of "reproductive toxicity (Article 57 (c))".

According to REACH regulations, if an item contains SVHC and the content is greater than 0.1% (w/w), downstream users or consumers must be informed and fulfill their information transmission obligations;
If the item contains SVHC and the content is greater than 0.1% (w/w), and the annual export volume is greater than 1 ton, it must be reported to ECHA;
According to the Waste Framework Directive (WFD), starting from January 5, 2021, if the SVHC content in an item exceeds 0.1%, SCIP notification must be issued.
