The revised restrictions on hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD) in Appendix I of 2019/1021 will take effect on October 17, 2024.
The main content of this update
The limit value of hexabromocyclododecane in substances, mixtures, and articles has been reduced from 100 mg/kg (0.01%) to 75 mg/kg (0.0075%). For EPS (expanded polystyrene) and XPS (extruded polystyrene) insulation materials used in construction or civil engineering, the limit of hexabromocyclododecane content in the recycled polystyrene used to produce the insulation material remains unchanged at 100 mg/kg (0.01%).
