SDPPI (full name: Direktorat Standardisasi Perangkat Pos dan Informatika), also known as the Indonesian Postal and Information Equipment Standardization Bureau, announced B-384/DJSDPPI.5/SP/04.06/07/2023 on July 12, 2023. The announcement proposes that mobile phones, laptops, and other products must meet SAR testing requirements.
As one of the requirements for telecommunications equipment certification, the fulfillment of SAR testing obligations will be implemented in stages. In the initial stage, head testing will be conducted on mobile phone products, and only reports issued by local SDPPI laboratories will be accepted. This requirement will have a transitional period of two years. During the transition period, the applicant must provide a declaration letter stating that the product will undergo SAR testing in the SDPPI laboratory and must submit a SAR report within two weeks, otherwise the certificate issued will become invalid.
