Mandatory national standard for heavy metals and specific substance limits in express packaging Will be implemented

On January 25th, the State Administration for Market Regulation (State Standards Commission) announced that the mandatory national standard for heavy metals and specific substances in express packaging will be implemented on June 1st of this year. This is the first mandatory national standard on express packaging that explicitly prohibits the use of toxic and harmful express packaging, and sets safety bottom lines and red line requirements for express packaging.
Scope of application: Paper, plastic, textile fiber express packaging and mail packaging, not suitable for express packaging that directly comes into contact with food.
Specific requirements: The limit requirements for heavy metals and specific substances in paper, plastic, and textile fiber express packaging specified in the standard are shown in the table below. For composite material express packaging composed of multiple materials, the production enterprise should declare the type of each material in the composite material express packaging, and each material should meet the relevant requirements in the table below.
