SVHC
On October 10, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced a new SVHC substance of interest, "Reactive Brown 51". The substance was proposed by Sweden and is currently in the stage of preparing the relevant substance files by the proposer. It is expected to submit the files and initiate a 45 day public review before February 3, 2025. If the feedback is approved, it will be officially added to the SVHC candidate list.
Detailed information of the substance:

As of now, there are 241 official substances on the SVHC candidate list, 8 newly evaluated and proposed substances, and 7 intended substances, totaling 256 items. The REACH regulation requires SVHC to complete relevant notification obligations within 6 months after being included in the candidate list. BTF suggests that all enterprises should not only pay attention to the list of SVHC candidate substances, but also promptly address the risks associated with the evaluation substances and intended substances in research and development, procurement, and other processes. They should develop response plans in advance to ensure the final compliance of their products.
