The FCC’s HAC 2019 requirements go into effect today

The FCC requires that from December 5, 2023, hand-held terminal must meet the ANSI C63.19-2019 standard (HAC 2019).
The standard adds Volume control testing requirements, and the FCC has granted ATIS 'request for a partial exemption from the volume control test to allow hand-held terminal to pass the HAC certification by waiving part of the volume control test.
The newly applied certification must fully comply with the requirements of 285076 D04 Volume Control v02, or in conjunction with the requirements of 285076 D04 Volume Control v02 under the Temporary Exemption procedure KDB285076 D05 HAC Waiver DA 23-914 v01.

HAC(Hearing Aid Compatibility)

Hearing aid compatibility (HAC) refers to the compatibility of mobile phones and hearing AIDS when used together. In order to reduce the electromagnetic interference caused by people wearing hearing AIDS when using mobile phones, various national communication standards organizations have developed relevant test standards and compliance requirements for HAC.
