The California Proposition 65 requires California to publish a list of hazardous chemicals, including carcinogenic, teratogenic, or reproductive toxic chemicals, and update it at least once a year. OEHHA is responsible for maintaining this list.Experts from the Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC) will review scientific evidence prepared by OEHHA members and public submissions.
If OEHHA includes vinyl acetate in its list, it will be required to comply with the relevant requirements of California Act 65 after one year. If warning signs are not posted in a timely manner, companies may face illegal lawsuits.
