1、What is EPA certification?
EPA stands for United States Environmental Protection Agency. Its main mission is to protect human health and the natural environment, with headquarters located in Washington. The EPA is directly led by the President and has been striving to create a clean and healthy environment for the American people for over 30 years since 1970. EPA is not testing or certification, and most products do not require sample testing or factory audits. EPA is a manifestation of the integrity registration system in the United States, which requires local American agents to guarantee the registration of factories and product information.
2、What is the product scope involved in EPA certification?
a) Certain ultraviolet systems, such as ozone generators, disinfection lamps, water filters, and air filters (excluding filters containing substances), as well as ultrasonic equipment, are claimed to be able to kill, inactivate, trap, or inhibit the growth of fungi, bacteria, or viruses in various places;
b) Claiming to be able to drive away birds with certain high-frequency sounders, hard alloy cannons, metal foils, and rotating devices;
c) Claiming to require the killing or trapping of certain insects using black light traps, fly traps, electronic and thermal screens, fly belts, and fly paper;
d) The severe mouse strike, sound mosquito repellent, foil, and rotating device are claimed to be used to repel certain mammals.
e) Products claiming to control pests through electromagnetic and/or electrical radiation (such as handheld bug swatters, electric flea combs);
f) Products claiming to control cave dwelling animals through underground explosions caused by the product; and
g) Products that act on a class of harmful organisms according to the principles indicated in the 1976 Federal Register notification, but are claimed to be able to control different types of harmful organisms (such as sticky traps for rodents (without attractants), light or laser protectants for birds, etc.).

4、How long is the validity period of EPA certification?
EPA registration does not have a clear validity period. If the annual production report is submitted on time every year and the authorized US agent remains legal and valid, then EPA registration will remain valid.
5、Can EPA certified manufacturers apply for it themselves?
Answer: EPA registration must be applied for by a local resident or company in the United States, and cannot be directly applied for by any company outside the United States. So for applications from Chinese manufacturers, they must entrust American agents to handle them. The US agent must be an individual with permanent residency in the United States or an EPA authorized agency.
6、Is there a certificate after EPA certification?
Answer: For simple products that do not use chemicals to function, there is no certificate. But after registering the company and factory information, that is, after obtaining the company number and factory number, EPA will issue a notification letter. For chemical or engine categories, there are certificates available.
